Definitions

Items: Refers to the belongings or goods that are to be moved by our team of professional movers.

Job: Refers to the moving service provided, including collection, transportation, and delivery of Items, booked directly through Shifters.

Platform: Refers to the Shifters website (https://shiftersmoving.co.uk/) and associated systems where customers can directly book moving services.

Mover: Refers to a member of our in-house moving team who will carry out the moving service.

Price: Refers to the total cost for the Job, including any applicable fees and charges.

Shifters Service: Refers to the moving services provided directly by Shifters, where customers can book and receive professional moving services from our team.

Service Description and Agreement

Shifters Moving Company delivers professional moving services directly to customers through our skilled and reliable team. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • House Removals
  • Business Relocations
  • Office Moves
  • Furniture Moving
  • Packing and Unpacking Services
  • Storage Solutions
  • Specialist Removals (e.g., pianos, antiques, fragile goods)

Our experienced team ensures that your belongings are safely transported and delivered with care. We handle every aspect of the move, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers.

Pricing and Payment

Our pricing structure is transparent and based on the details provided during booking. However, additional charges may apply under specific circumstances, such as:

  • Changes to the Original Booking: Any modifications, including extra items, last-minute adjustments, or unforeseen challenges during the move.
  • Waiting Time: Delays beyond the agreed schedule (e.g., unpreparedness at the pickup or delivery location).
  • Storage Costs: If storage is required due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Additional Services: Packing, unpacking, or special handling requirements.

Payment Terms:

  • Payments must be completed using the methods specified on our website.
  • All payments are due as outlined in the booking confirmation or invoice. Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation or delays in service.
  • We recommend providing accurate and complete details during booking to avoid unexpected costs.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate details when booking a Job.
  • Ensuring necessary access at both pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Obtaining any required permissions for moving.
  • Complying with local regulations, including parking and waste disposal rules.
  • Taking images of Items before loading and after unloading as proof of their condition.

Platform Use

Shifters provides a platform for booking moving services. While we strive for error-free operation, occasional maintenance may impact platform accessibility.

Cancellations and Changes

  • Customers can modify or cancel standard bookings up to 47:59 hours the day before the Job starts.
  • Same-day bookings or urgent Jobs may require full payment upon cancellation.

Dispute Resolution Policy

  1. Shifters’ Obligations:
    • Shifters will provide a fair process for resolving disputes.
    • While we facilitate issue resolution, we are not liable for service failures beyond our control.
    • Harassment or abuse towards our staff or movers will result in voiding the dispute process.
  2. Customer’s Obligations:
    • Customers must direct all loss or damage claims to Shifters, not individual movers.
    • Claims must be submitted within 24 hours of service completion.
    • Customers must provide images taken before loading and after unloading to support claims.
  3. Damaged Items:
    • Customers must retain damaged items in their received condition and provide photographic evidence.
    • Claims must be submitted within 24 hours of delivery.
    • The driver will be responsible for any damage during transit; however, Shifters will investigate the matter before determining liability.
  4. Lost Items:
    • Customers must report missing items within 24 hours of the expected delivery date.
    • Proof of collection must be provided.
    • Shifters will investigate within a reasonable timeframe.
  5. Information Requests:
    • Both customers and movers must supply requested information within 2 days to assist dispute resolution.
    • Failure to provide requested details may result in denial of mediation.
  6. Resolution Actions:
    • Shifters will use reasonable efforts to investigate disputes and propose fair solutions.
    • We do not guarantee resolution in all cases.
  7. Remedies:
    • Disputed payments may be held until dispute resolution concludes.
    • If a resolution cannot be reached, alternative legal remedies may be pursued.

Examples of Additional Fees

Some additional fees may apply under specific conditions:

  • Congestion/Emission Zone Charges & Tolls: Added to the final bill.
  • Parking Fees: Customers are responsible for covering parking costs.
  • Ferry/Eurostar Travel: If applicable, added to the final bill.
  • Overseas Travel: Costs related to tolls, bridges, or border fees.
  • Storage Fees: If the move is delayed due to customer-related issues.
  • Municipal Waste Fees: Disposal costs if waste needs to be cleared.
  • Debt Collection Costs: If payment defaults occur, third-party collection fees may apply.
